SAMMO – South African Mass Movement
Proudly formed and led by the community.

SAMMO is a community-owned political movement rooted in Ubuntu. We organise from the ground up so that ordinary people, not career politicians, shape the future of our country.

About Sammo

A political home built on Ubuntu and community power.

The South African Mass Movement was formed in 2024 as a physical expression of our cultural values of Ubuntu. SAMMO is led by the very people it represents, grounded in shared stories, history and dignity.

Our community is not just a voting block – it is the source of political power. The people shape the design, culture and direction of the movement. When leaders move away from this framework, the community has the right and responsibility to correct course.

SAMMO exists to reclaim our stories from politicians who only remember us during elections. Through our structures, meetings and programmes, we turn lived experience into real political action.

“If this is our community, where are our stories?” SAMMO answers this question by turning our shared stories into organised, principled political power rooted in Ubuntu.
